7th day of athletics – May 2017

Note that the 7th day of Christian Vachon athletics took place on May 25 at the University of Sherbrooke Stadium, in the presence of 500 elementary school children from the Commission scolaire des Sommets. The event was held under the honorary presidency of Paralympic athlete, Nicole Clermont, and we took the opportunity to award the Christian Vachon Prize to a student from each of the schools present. “This award recognizes young people who have shown determination and displayed a good attitude in their environment. We want to remind you that it's not just the victories or the medals that are important. You can make your way in different ways in life”, suggested Christian Vachon.

The latter was also delighted to see that the La Ruche athletics track project was going to present an improved face, even if it will be necessary to wait another year. “The University of Sherbrooke Stadium is very good, but I can't wait for us to hold the primary school athletics day at our track in Magog. It will be quite a happening”, he said.
