A deposit day for the benefit of the Foundation
Do they store in your garage? Do they accumulate in the basement? Or, even worse, they accidentally end up in your garbage bin? And yet! Your returnable containers are invaluable to the environment and can make a difference in funding community organizations in your community. IGA extra Gazaille de Magog intends to demonstrate this as part of the Day of the deposit for the benefit of the Christian Vachon Foundation. Objective : Relieve the environment while supporting the perseverance and educational success of children.
DATE : Saturday, July 8, 2017
TIME: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
LOCATION: IGA extra Gazaille
1526 Sherbrooke Street
Magog (Quebec)
Did you know that each year, in Quebec, close to 490 million returnable cans are not returned? Which represents a value of almost $27 million. In the only Estrie region , it is estimated at nearly 19 million the number of concealed returnable cans, which represents a sum of just over $1 million. Moreover, there are more than 220 community groups and foundations that would certainly benefit from a financial boost to support their mission and give life to projects.
Enough to encourage community organizations that really need it, in particular the Christian Vachon Foundation, the cause chosen by Annick Gazaille. A business partnership that does not date from yesterday and which has made it possible to donate the sum of $4,000 and to sponsor 10 children to date. Moreover, customers can offer money from the deposit 365 days a year thanks to the “donation” option available on the automated collection terminals located at the store entrance.
"On July 8, we give a big blow! We sow happiness by bringing back our returnable containers so that the Christian Vachon Foundation continues to multiply small miracles for our children. Giving back has never been so enjoyable : make a difference with us”, enthuses Ms. Gazaille, owner of the establishment. Foundation volunteers will be present throughout the day to collect the bags of containers.”
"From an environmental point of view, the deposit is one of the most profitable avenues as it makes it possible to recycle 100% of the material. It is also a source of funding for community projects of all kinds. Clearly, in by promoting our returnable containers, we can make a difference and transform our community,” said Pascale Demers, spokesperson for Consignéco.
