CS des Sommets Christian-Vachon athletics day

Media representatives are invited to the 7th edition of this major sporting event where more than 500 5th and 6th grade students from the Commission scolaire des Sommets will gather for a friendly athletic competition:

Thursday, May 25, 2017, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Stade de l'Université de Sherbrooke.

The presence of our guest of honor, Nicole Clermont , school principal in Sherbrooke and para-cycling athlete who took part in the Rio games, will arouse the enthusiasm of the participants.

Several events, including the relay race, the 800 m and the long jump will take place throughout the day, which will begin with a parade of the school delegations present followed by a collective warm-up led, this year, by our students.

Medals will be awarded to the winners throughout the day.

For a 4th year, the Christian-Vachon Prize will be awarded to deserving students from each of the 32 delegations present. This award specifically highlights perseverance and is associated with the educational success of students.

These perseverance awards will be presented in the presence of athlete Christian Vachon.

We therefore invite you to come and meet the young athletes from elementary schools and the teachers who accompany them during a day filled with challenge and self-transcendence!
